Dr. John M. Gillis is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his D.M.D from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He then went on to specialize in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Dr. Gillis was a partner and full-time oral surgeon at a practice in Tempe where he was known for his excellent bedside manner and surgery skills. In 2014, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Alaska as their Oral &  Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Missing the warm Arizona sunshine, family and friends, Dr. Gillis has returned to Arizona where he will be providing treatment part-time at Summit Dental Specialty as well as continuing his service with the United States Air Force.

Dr. Gillis enjoys spending time with his wife Heather and children Brooke and Blake traveling the country in their RV and enjoying the outdoors with their dogs Journey and Jazzy. He is excited to be back in the Phoenix area and to reconnect with the local dentists that helped him get his start.
